Rui Neves Madeira is an Assistant Professor at the School of Technology of Setúbal, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESTSetúbal-IPS), and an Integrated Researcher at NOVA LINCS. He is the coordinator of the VisionXAIR Lab, a cutting-edge research hub where computer vision, artificial intelligence, and extended reality (XR) converge to shape human-centered technology. Having served as the Head of the SustainRD Research Center (2019-2023), he holds a PhD in Computer Science from the NOVA School of Science and Technology. His research expertise lies in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Health, Digital Twins, Gamification, and the personalization of ubiquitous computing applications.

Patrícia Macedo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Technology of Setúbal, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESTSetúbal-IPS), where she also serves as a member of the Technical-Scientific Council. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the NOVA University of Lisbon. As a researcher at UNINOVA’s Centre of Technology and Systems, her work centers on Collaborative Networks, Value Systems Analysis, Soft Computing, and the development of inclusive IT solutions. She has significantly contributed to mHealth projects, particularly in designing conversational agents and empowering applications for individuals with disabilities and chronic conditions like Parkinson’s disease.

Gabriel Marques is an Invited Teaching Assistant at the NOVA School of Science and Technology and an active Researcher at both NOVA LINCS and ESTSetúbal-IPS. Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, his research investigates the practical applications of Extended Reality (XR), Serious Games, and Gamification in clinical and industrial settings. His notable work includes the development of gamified VR environments for therapist-guided exposure therapy. Furthermore, he contributes to the transition towards Industry 5.0 by designing Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) human-AI collaborative solutions for the shop floor.
